Why am I not able to get all the records from Google Maps when I search for a specific store or business across a state/country?
For example, searching for 'McDonald's in Boston' doesn't return all the available locations.
When you search for a place like "McDonald's in Boston" on Google Maps, you're not guaranteed to see all available locations. This is because Google Maps imposes a limit on the number of results per search query. After a certain point, Google simply doesn’t load more results or paginate further, even if more relevant locations exist.
To perform a broader and more complete search, it's recommended to split your search using multiple keywords, such as:
- Individual city or town names
- Neighborhoods
- Zip codes
By running multiple, smaller searches, you increase the chance of capturing all possible locations, as each query retrieves a separate set of results. This approach helps overcome the limitations of a single keyword-based search and ensures better coverage across a large area like a city or state.
